People have been praising the benefits of
ortho k for some time, with many shortsighted folk noting that they quickly see results.
Speaking to Sky News in 2008, Peter Todd-Jones noted that despite being barely able to see the top line of an eye chart before he used ortho k lenses, he can now see almost perfectly.
"I'd heard the miracle stories - that you put them in one night and the next night you've got 20/20 vision," he said.
"It's pretty close to that. I expect it to take some time but it's been very, very good."
Mr Todd-Jones was speaking about the benefits in an article on the Sky News website, which also suggested that ortho k lenses were a great alternative for people looking for something else other than laser surgery to help correct their vision.
Optician David Thomas told Sky that ortho k lenses worked "the same as a brace in dentistry" - forcing the eye into a more desirable position to enable users see better.
