People who have considered eye laser surgery but later found they are not suitable candidates should not worry.
Dr Ella Faktorovich, writing for the Examiner, highlighted some do's and don'ts to consider before getting the surgery.
As well as coming prepared with questions before a consultation, potential candidates are urged to be open with their doctor.
For those who can't get eye laser surgery, she said there are "many excellent vision correction options".
Dr Faktorovich added: "The best vision correction surgery is the one that's best for you."
For some people,
ortho k contact lenses may be the best option.
Worn at night,
orthokeratology contact lenses help to reshape the cornea while asleep.
Once awake, the contact lenses can be taken out and the wearer will experience
natural vision.
Ortho k contact lenses are a great alternative to the possible side effects of eye laser surgery and perfect for dry eye sufferers who want to avoid the invasive option.
