Ortho k lenses are just one of the advances in contact lens technology.
An optometrist from Nova Scotia in Canada has highlighted that he is still surprised at the technological developments in the industry.
"If someone had mentioned in 1984 that you could put a contact lens on your eye and [at] night throw it in the garbage I would have said you were full of beans," Dr James Moores told the Amherst Daily News.
For people who are looking for the next big thing in contact lenses,
ortho k lenses are likely to be it.
The overnight vision correction lenses are worn at night and taken out in the morning meaning that wearers can see clearly during the day.
They work by gently reshaping the cornea while asleep and the effects last for the whole of the next day - when heading to bed all a person needs to do is simply pop them back in.
