Anyone who has had vision difficulties may have wished at times that they would simply go away.
However, for one Leicestershire girl, her wish became a reality.
Charly Sissons, who lost her
natural vision after a traumatic windsurfing accident, found her sight being restored when her grandmother died, the Leicester Mercury has reported.
The 15-year-old went totally blind a day after she suffered an accident that saw her get caught underneath the sail of a windsurfing board.
Charly told the local newspaper that during the accident she had a flashback to a time when a girl held her head under water the next day she found that she couldn't see.
She was with her grandmother when she died and on the way home from the tragic event she found she could see again.
According to a spokesperson from her GP practice, the condition is known as "unexplained visual loss".
Sudden blindness can be brought on by conditions such as diabetic retinopathy as well as trauma.
