After another strong performance beating the USA 37-10, England and Jo McGilchrist booked their place in the semi finals after wins over Ireland, Kazakhstan and the USA
England head coach Gary Street said: "The girls really showed their determination and physicality tonight. The forwards were tremendous and set the platform, and the backs capitalised. This was a good day in the office."
Wasps and England lock Jo McGilchrist played for the second time without her contact lenses in the USA game. She is using overnight vision correction to correct her eyesight which means that she wears her contact lenses over night to sleep in so that she does not have to wear any when she is playing. Jo who is shortsighted; which means that she can't see distances clearly, started using the special overnight corrective contact lenses to improve her eyesight in the run up to the World Cup Tournament.
Speaking in advance of the Australian game Street says "This is a huge game and as such we have picked an extremely experienced side to take on the Australian challenge. It's certainly going to be exciting to play at the Stoop and we are hoping to have the same great support that we have enjoyed at the Surrey Sports Park.
