Contact lenses for sport  worn only while sleeping are the best option for shortsighted rugby players who might otherwise rely on conventional daytime contact lenses. The downside of this latter option was again in evidence in Canada's defeat by France in the Rugby World Cup when their star player, Adam Kleeberger, had to take a time-out to replace a lost lens. The bushy bearded flanker had starred in the Canuck's previous match when they beat Tonga and was again prominent in the battle of the forwards with the French for whom the final result of 46-19 was flattered by three late tries.

Kleeberger has belied his amateur status by showing he has the talent to play at a higher level and is hoping the World Cup will provide the platform for securing him a professional contract with a new club. Previously, he has played in England at Rotherham Titans and in New Zealand at Auckland where his playing stint was cut short by injury forcing him to return to Canada where rugby is still an amateur sport. However, he would be well-advised to consider switching to the new overnight ortho-k corrective contact lenses for sport  to ensure he spends all his time on the pitch rather than requiring a visit to the sidelines when a lens goes missing in a tackle.
