An American mother is singing the praises of Orthokeratology, claiming that it improved her daughter's eyesight in three days.
Lori Brascia, the mother of nine-year-old Alyssa, has said that the special contact lenses have helped to reverse her nearsightedness, The Herald News reported.
"Within three days she was seeing better," she said. "Her vision is back to 20/20. She can see the blackboard. She can read the clock from the other room. It's been amazing for her to wake up in the morning being able to see."
The optometrist Dr James K Cutler, who prescribed the lenses, said that people are increasingly turning to them.
"The new software that's been designed in the last four to five years makes it easier to create more precise lenses. The results are a lot better," Dr Cutler said
He added that teenagers tend to find to the lenses useful to fit in with their busy lifestyle and concerns about appearance.
