Prescription sunglasses 'an issue for kids'
With the summer now here, many parents will be thinking about how to protect their children from the sun.

Recently, optometrist Steven Schiff suggested on Newsday.com that people should remember to protect their eyes as well as their skin.

However, for kids who wear glasses, getting "cool" prescription lenses can be difficult, with many wanting the ones that they see their friends have purchased from high-street shops.

Ortho k lenses could help parents who want to protect their kids and allow them to wear the sunglasses of their choosing.

The lenses are worn at night and gently reshape the cornea, leading to better vision during the day - meaning that prescription sunglasses are not necessary.

Additionally, they are particularly useful for sporty children.

As ortho k lenses are not worn during the day, there is no chance that a lens could be knocked out in a football match or that it could be lost before an important event.
