Any parent who finds out that their child may have visual difficulties will be faced with a conundrum - purchase expensive glasses or look into contact lenses?
Joan Westlake, writing for the Chicago Tribune, has urged parents to consider all the options when looking at the issue.
For anyone concerned about whether or not their child is responsible enough to use contact lenses, such as
ortho k, Ms Westlake highlights a recent study of eight to 11-year-olds that found 90 per cent had no issue with using lenses.
Products like ortho k lenses are perfect for active
children who play a lot of sport as well.
As they are not worn during the day, the overnight
vision correction lenses mean that there is no need for wearing risky glasses or the purchase of expensive sports goggles and there is no chance a lens will fall out during sports.
