Uncorrected refractive error leads to huge productivity loss
Vision impairment correction procedures could save a substantial amount of money.

A new study conducted by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and various other institutes found that 158 million people worldwide suffer with vision impairment as a result of uncorrected refractive error.

It is the first research to estimate productivity loss from the condition, which can often be eliminated with a pair of glasses.

Kevin Frick, author of the study, said: "The economic gains that could be made if eyeglasses were provided to everyone in need are substantial.

"The Western Pacific region, which includes China and Vietnam, has the highest estimated number of cases of uncorrected refractive error at 62 million and is responsible for almost half of the potential loss of productivity."

Ortho k lenses can be a great choice for people with refractive errors.

Worn at night, they gently reshape the cornea meaning that vision is restored during the day.
