People who spend their days staring at a computer screen in an office can often find they suffer from symptoms of dry eyes, exacerbated by a lack of natural lighting and dry indoor air. However simple actions can help solve these problems and lead to eyesight improvements.

According to a recent article in the Times of India, the first step towards eyesight improvements is to take frequent breaks when doing activities that involve eyesight concentration such as watching the TV, using a PC and sewing.

It also suggested that people should check they are not rubbing their eyes too much as this can make the condition worse.

"A temporary and safe option for dry eyes is using artificial tears.
It's best to get your optician to prescribe a good brand. Placing one drop in each eye everyday can help a little," the news provider added.

Diet is also important, it continued, suggesting that eating meals which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon and mackerel, will help keep eyes lubricated.

Ortho K over night contact lenses can reduce the symptoms of dry eyes as they are only worn for around six to eight hours at a time, compared to 16 hours for conventional contact lenses.

They are made from a highly permeable material which lets six times more oxygen into the eye than normal disposable contact lenses.

The lenses are worn while people sleep and are then taken out during the day, leaving the wearer with perfect natural vision without the needs for contact lenses or glasses.
