A new eye care device to combat the symptoms of dry eye has been released.

Dr Chuck R Courtenay invented the Eye-POD eye care kit to combat his own struggles with dry eyes.

It uses liquid affinity physics to allow for easier insertion and removal of contact lenses and application of eye drops – used to combat dry eyes.

Dry eyes can be caused by rubbing the eyes with unclean fingers or long fingernails, something which can be a regular scenario for contact lens wearers. Dry eye can also be caused by working in air conditioned environments and staring at PC screens.

But the Eye-POD allows wearers to easily insert eye drops or contact lenses in about a second without touching the eye.

It can deliver drops into the centre of the eye without the risk of losing it down one's cheek thanks to its patented 'Tunnel-of-Light' which aligns the contact lens or eye drop with the pupil of the eye.

The device can hold a single eye drop over the centre of the eye without the need to bend over, which can help those who suffer from physical ailments such as arthritis or a bad back.

Ortho k overnight contact lenses are another great way to reduce the symptoms of dry eye.

Specially-designed Orthokeratology night time contact lenses reshape your eyes gently overnight and can be taken out during the day, meaning that the need for regular contact lenses or glasses is eliminated.

Ortho kcorrective contact lenses allow short-sighted people the chance to enjoy natural vision during the day without the hassle caused by uncomfortable conventional contact lenses.

Overnight correction contact lenses can also help wearers stave-off dry eye caused by wearing contact lenses for too long at occasions such as office Christmas parties.
